Post date: Mar 22, 2020 11:26:17 PM

Welcome back to our distance learning. All students were sent home with their Springboard books but also all hard copies will be attached to lessons to either print off, fill out online, or do on your own paper. Below we always list previous assignments in a check list to either keep until we return to hand in, take a picture of it and email or send via remind, or just email or share it to me. Please keep in mind that when sharing from your One Drive always have your name, date, and period at the top of the document so we can see to whom it belongs when we open it up or print it off.

In order to keep your Lexile and reading comprehension sharp make sure you are doing 30 mins of Reading Plus five days a week. We will be checking that lessons are being completed. Site Code = rpgriff1 & User name and password are your student number

Work Period: Students will fill out their first body paragraph graphic organizer. The essay prompt: How do animals improve humans' lives. The first body paragraph will pull from all the Temple Grandin readings and use citations from Temple Grandin's story to show how animals helped her in various ways throughout her life. Students will start the paragraph with a transition word or phrase and a topic/main idea sentence. Students will give a citation from the text that shows how animals helped Temple Grandin, and then explain how this quote demonstrates how animals helped Temple Grandin. The explanation should take 2-3 sentences and finish the paragraph with a summarizing sentence. Students can pull from any of the stories in the Springboard book.

"Dogs make us human" pg 153

"My Story" pg 159 (attached to session B last week)

"Hampshire School for Wayward Wizards" pg 161 (attached to session B last week)

Once students have filled out the body paragraph graphic organizer, they will put it all together in a full paragraph.
