It is good for the trainer to build a strong relationship with trainees yet it must be based upon mutual respect and the trainer should still maintain some distance, albeit small, from trainees.
Gain trainee trust
Win trainees emotionally
Get trainee respect and maintain it
Be modest all the time with trainees
Behave in a familiar way with trainees
Keep a small distance between you and trainees. Do not get too familiar so that you can remain the decision maker in the training room.
