Having each participant set his or her own personal learning goals at the start of a training program helps them be more focused and achieve their goals more rapidly and with much more strength by the end of the training program.
Early in the first training session, ask participants to think solo, in pairs or in groups about their individual learning goals: what they want to achieve from this training course. What skills, knowledge and behavior would they like to acquire after completing the current training program. Ask them to produce a written record of what they have come up with.
