Tree #44: Conference Pear

Trees 43 and 44 represent the Conference Pear trees of the orchard, and were planted in 2013.The Conference Pear is the most widely grown variety of pear in North Western Europe. The Conference Pear was found in 1884 in Britain. In 1895 it was named for the British National Pear Conference where it was first exhibited. The fruit ripens in late fall and stores well.
