Tree #53: Italian Plum
Tree #53 was grown from a root sucker from a full size plum tree, which was originally grown from root stock collected from a plum tree in Seattle. The tree is not grafted to a root stock and will become full size if not pruned. Trees #19, #20, and #25 have grafts from this variety. The fruit is usually ready for harvest in August. The Italian Plum is a late bloomer with a long growing season. They produce pink and white flowers during the later part of spring.Â
