Nijisseiki Asian Pear
The Nijisseiki Asian Pear (Pyrus Pyrifolia “Nijisseiki") is the best known variety of Asian Pear. It is also called the 20th Century Pear. The fruit has a green-yellow skin with a smooth texture. The flesh is white, crisp, and juicy. The fruit are usually of medium size, and ripen in mid-September. The tree blooms in early spring and produces white flowers.
