Coomera

Coomera is a northern suburb of the Gold Coast city, Queensland, Australia.

At the time Bertha and Elmer relocated to Coomera to set up a convenience store, there were very few homes or businesses in the area and the Gold Coast city was still in its infancy.

A national highway (the Pacific Highway) runs through Coomera and Dreamworld theme park has been a landmark of the suburb since 1981.

The area is home to a koala population but also undergoing substantial housing development.
