Jose Reyes (38) is the 2022 John Marzano Award winner as this year's enshrinee to the Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Fame.
Originally signed by A's GM Matt Veasey as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic on December 30, 2001, at just age 18, Reyes became the best such amateur free agent signing in franchise history.
Reyes became the club's starting shortstop for the 2005-08 seasons, helping the A's win three straight Owens/East pennants his first three years and then the WFBL championship in his final season with the club.
Reyes is the franchise all-time Steals leader with 240 and still ranks 6th in Hits and 7th in Runs. In 2007, Reyes set the current WFBL record with 74 stolen bases. Reyes was enshrined in the WFBL Hall of Fame in 2018.
Reyes becomes the 16th member of the A's Hall of Fame, the sixth player from that 2008 title team to be enshrined. He joins position player teammates Chase Utley and Mark Teixeira and pitchers Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, and Billy Wagner along with manager Buck Showalter from that club.
