As the 2018 regular season came to an end the Philadelphia Athletics named their annual award winners.
For the fifth time in his seven seasons, outfielder Mike Trout was honored to received the organization's Jimmy Foxx Award winner as the top offensive player on the Majors club. Trout led the A's with a .311 average and .458 on-base percentage, tied for the club lead with 30 home runs, was tied for third on the team with 60 RBI, and also swiped 21 bags.
Closer Edwin Diaz took home his first Lefty Grove Award as the team's top pitcher. The righty became just the sixth relief pitcher in 21 years to take home the honors after registering 50 Saves with a 1.97 ERA and 0.78 WHIP, striking out 108 batters over 64 innings.
Ian Anderson is a 20-year-old right-hander who excelled in the minors this season, allowing just 87 hits over 119.1 innings with a 2.49 ERA, 1.140 WHIP, and a 142/49 K:BB ratio.
