Clones can be had for $220-300usd. It seems that adding a carrying case adds a lot of shipping cost and increases the price by $40 or more but worth it IMO to keep the device clean/protected/all together.

As an alternative that has all of the features of the tech2, look at tech2win and tis2web for updating. Even cheaper hardware can be used(VXDIAG VX NANO for GM). https://amzn.to/2N7uWRe They have the a USB and a USB/WIFI version available. Tech2win runs faster than the actual Tech2(or clone), but it has to connect to the internet every 60days to update the device license. It has been working for me for many years and you can't get a cheaper device that will do both the ABS automated bleed and the Crank/Cam variance re-learn.
I got mine for under $100 on sale, and so far it has been working perfectly. Just have to follow the directions to get everything set up. As a bonus it runs a lot faster than the standalone Tech2 https://amzn.to/2IOioL4 I only use it on a computer that I only use for that purpose and it's own wifi network, as some AV will show the installer as a virus. I have not noticed anything weird going on with that computer, so it definitely could be a false positive, however I'm cautious either way.
