Here are some various user/owner/service manuals for the Astro/Safari vans.
The GM Techline eSI is the digital FSM(factory service manual) that covers 1996-2005 A/S vans and I highly recommend it! Check the links below(some links may require assembly). Prior to 1996 they don't have any digital versions of the FSM, however there is a lot of information available from the sources below. I like how easily it is to use Chiltons Library from home, through your local or state library(and military).
In other words, don't waste your money on buying manuals when virtually all of the information is out there available at no cost to you.

Alldata Repair Info — This can be accessed from the Auto Hobby Shop on many bases, some libraries also have access, but you usually have to be on site(not at home, depending on their subscription) to access Alldata(owned by AutoZone). Usually the access is IP based, so it may work when connected to your library WIFI. Subscriptions are way overpriced IMO.

AutoZone Repair Info — AutoZone(who owns Alldata) has free repair information on their website, just have to create a free account, or use BugMeNot.com logins.
ChiltonLibrary.com(must go through portal) — The actual link will depend on your local library, a lot of them have a subscription to the service, and the info can even be accessed from home. Great resource! Log into your library website with your library card number, then follow the redirect to chiltonlibrary.
EBSCO Auto Repair Source - Another service available from many library branches, check with your local/state library.
Ebay.com — Search for paper Factory Service Manuals here. They can be had pretty cheap, just make sure you are getting a complete set as some are only 1 book, others 2, even 3 or more. 96-2005 is covered in the Techline eSI MiniXP.ova below, so don't waste your money on those.
