Woody failed as a computer case and in 2004 I decided to go buts once more. I had seen some computer cases made of plexiglas and wanted to give that a try. It ended up being a real eye catcher. Didn't replace the Plexi case but eventually the system was replaced by a (self-built ZFSGuru) NAS.
List of modifications:
Just for info, I've written down my experiences with plexiglas as a computer case.
Visible is the red CPU fan and the blue LED lighting the skull.
This is an overview picture of the case, how it looked during daylight. In my opinion a cable-mess. Later I would sleeve the power supply cabling.
At night, when the cables are hardly visible, the case looks much cleaner. (Also due to the not-yet-mounted PSU)
Showing the fake damages in the front plexi, the fan controller and the red/pink cable sleeves.
After the PSU was sleeved and mounted, this was the side view. Note that the skull lighting is disabled and the bottom fan CCFL was defective.
This was the final overview of the Plexi casemod. The green hue is probably caused by the photo camera, I never changed the lighting colours.
