Koolinator 2nd Ed.

The first Koolinator had grown over time, it become more and more cluttered. In addition it was very heavy and the design kinda outdated. After I finished the Plexi mod for my 'server', I decided in 2006 to built a new Koolinator based on a high end Lian Li case. I used this case till I decided in 2012 to go smaller.

List of modifications:

Four transparant fans in the top. RGB LEDs weren't readily available back then so I used separate red, blue and green LEDs.
The right panel was given a plexiglas window to provide sight into the hard-drive compartiment. This plexiglas was provided with a three-colour Diablo 3 logo.
The left panel was modified with a window to provide sight to the motherboard and watercooling. This plexiglas was provided with a two-colour design of a Diablo 3 'Angel' character.
The back was provided with a new aluminium plate to support two power supplies in a correct and reliable way.
The front bays were replaced by a piece of plexiglas to support a small secondary display, a control graphical display and control buttons.

Case Top

The four transparent fans were provided with custom made RGB LED strips since you couldn't buy them back then. The result was quite colourful.

Diablo 3 logo

I embedded the Diablo logo in the Plexiglas for the drive cage window. I used the LED colours; white, red and orange. The white spots to the right and left were reflections.

Side Panel Window

The other side window had the Diablo 3 angel image. I used two colours for this image, blue and yellow.

Case opened up

Internally the case was quite the mess. This is the result of two separated watercooling systems (1 for CPU, 1 for GPU) and 2 power supplies.

Cleaner case internals

Later I replaced the VGA cards by a Xfire setup wichout watercooling. This mode the case internals look much cleaner.

Final PC setup

This image shows the secondary windows display at the top and the blue (inactive) display for automation of the cooling. That part I never finished.
