This page describes my measurements finding out the best mode for the CANTON sub 8.2. On the back of this subwoofer is a switch to select a mode. Switch options are 'Narrow', 'Wide' and 'Normal', but I could not find proper definition of which mode I should select or what the effect is. Therefore I measured it.

My Conclusions
- My hearing preference was the 'Wide' mode. It was indeed the mode with most output on lowest frequencies.
- There is a large difference in the subwoofer's output, even up to 10dB at 30Hz.
- The differences focus on the low frequencies.
- I definitely recommend testing it out if your sub has a switch like this.
