Love Your Library month!

Post date: Feb 21, 2013 3:22:9 PM

During the month of February, the ACSD Libraries are celebrating Love Your Library month.  We will be holding various activities to celebrate reading, books, and libraries:

* Valentines for the Library - Stop by the library to pick up a paper heart that says "I love my library because..." and complete the valentine for us to display for everyone to see! Think about what is so great about the library, how the library is a help to you, or how the awesome librarians help you! How has the library made a difference in your life?  We will enjoy reading these!

* "I am Responsible" Incentive - Library staff will periodically hold drawings throughout the month for free posters (the ones that are sold at the book fairs).  To be eligible to win, students must not have any overdue library books or owe any money to the library for lost or damaged books.  So get those library books in, or renew them if needed, so you and others can check out some more books to enjoy!

* Library Trivia @Lincoln - Trivia questions about libraries will be given periodically throughout the month, one question for 3/4 and one question for 5/6. Winners will receive a gift certificate for our used book sale at the end of the month.

* Blue Pride T-shirts - There are t-shirts for football, basketball, wrestling, dancing, softball, etc...now you can buy a t-shirt to show your Blue Pride for reading.  There are two cool designs for just $13 (or $2 more for XXL or XXXL).  Profit from t-shirt sales will go towards buying new library books. Click on the blue link for more details.

* I Love a Bargain Book-Sale - Each school library will host a used book-sale sometime during the last week in February. Paperbacks will cost 50 cents, and hardbacks will cost $1.  However, we need help for this book-sale to succeed! Please go through your books at home looking for any that you don't really need or want anymore.  Then bring them into any school library by Friday, February 22.  Proceeds will go towards purchasing new library books, and any books remaining after the sale will be given to the public library for their book sale in the summer.  It will be a win-win for everyone!
