The ACSD libraries are excited to announce that they have recently upgraded to a library software program called Destiny Library Manager. The new program makes the ACSD library catalogs accessible 24/7 to its patrons and the public through Internet access.  The library catalogs can be accessed directly at http://albia.follettdestiny.com, from the library website at http://bit.ly/acsd-libraries, or from the school district’s homepage through the school library website link.

Destiny offers students an engaging interface through the Destiny Quest feature, giving it the look and feel of some of today’s social networking sites.  Eventually students and staff will be able to view and customize some settings with their own accounts. Destiny will also make some tasks of running the libraries a more efficient and effective process for staff members.

The libraries at Lincoln Center and the Junior High/High School began using Destiny this week.  The Kendall Center library, however, will not be able to use the new system for awhile because its collection is not yet automated.  It may take several weeks to catalog and process the Kendall Center's books.  Mrs. Seddon may solicit the help of volunteers at a later date to assist with this activity.

Any questions or comments about Follett Destiny may be directed to library associates Janet Kosman or Mary Sertterh, or to Leann Seddon, ACSD Teacher-Librarian.
