Remember, the library has reference books in print, too...and sometimes, it takes less time and is just as easy to find what you need in a book than online!

Ask.com - rank is based on # of subject related pages linked from
Google - rank is based on popularity (# of pages linked to it)
Yahoo - rank is based on relevancy (occurence of items)
Altavista - rank is based on connectivity of pages
Dogpile - combines the best of different search engines
MSN - rank based on amount paid for rank.
Sweet Search - a search engine for students; results are from reliable websites already evaluated by librarians and teachers
Royalty-Free Music Sites - check each site for their specific terms of use, but in general you just have to cite your source if you want to use these for non-commercial projects (ones that you don't make any money off of)
iClipart - an Iowa AEA Online resource that has short sound effects available for download. Ask your librarian or teacher for the username and password.
