SONOMA COUNTY AREA -- Valley of the Moon Observatory Association (VMOA) http://www.rfo.org operates a public astronomical observatory located in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, near Kenwood, California. The Robert Ferguson Observatory houses a 24-inch telescope while a new 40-inch telescope is under construction, as well as a 14-inch reflector with a CCD camera and a dome-enclosed 8-inch refractor. The telescopes are all available for frequent public use and are used for research purposes as well.
