All coursework assignments are marked anonymously – only your registration number is visible. This ensures that there are no biases, favourable or unfavourable, unintended or otherwise, that will affect your grade.
All module assignments will be marked by the module leader. A sample of marked work will then be moderated by another academic. A sample is also assessed by the external examiner who will inform the module leader of any issues and marks will be adjusted accordingly.
Feedback will be available on your work so that you can improve your understanding and translate this into future assignments and work projects. All assignments will be electronically marked and these will be available through the Blackboard site. There will be full comments to allow you to understand the mark you have received and how this could be improved. If you are unclear about anything or want any further feedback please contact the module leader.
A sample of each module is reviewed by an external examiner with the purpose to assure students that their programmes of study are subject to independent oversight and scrutiny in line with national expectations, and that this is undertaken by one or more external examiners of suitable standing and expertise. A guide can be found here:

Once you have completed all your assignments and these have been marked and moderated the examining board will meet. The Board of Examiners ensure the overall quality of all the programmes provided by the Management School. Once the grades are validated by the Board the results will be released to learner.
Reassessment
University guidance on Postgraduate reassessment can be viewed here https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/assessment/resits-reassessment/pg
All reassessments will be completed within the same academic year.
Fees
If you are on an apprenticeship funded programme then reassessment costs are covered by the apprenticeship levy.
A learner who has failed an assignment may be subject to consideration under the Progress of Students Regulations, to be re-assessed once only. Further re-assessment is not possible.
If you have failed an assignment, you will be able to view your marked work with feedback. This feedback will indicate where there were good areas on your work and areas for improvement.
The module leader may be willing to give you further guidance on what to do to improve your performance.
For a module assignment resubmission, you may be required to undertake a completely new piece of work, or to improve your original work and resubmit it.
Note that if you are reassessed on an assignment, and you do worse at the second attempt you will be awarded the grade for the first attempt.
