MGT61106 Governance, Finance and Strategic Risk
The module focuses on financial, economic, environmental and social governance in relation to external accounting and external auditing as key aspects of the business context centred on organisational performance. The governance of the organisation is understood as a nexus of state, market and other (e.g. civil society pressures) forces. Consideration of corporate social responsibility in the context of modern governance is included as a precursor to any governance policy development. International aspects of organisational governance are discussed as it relates to the geo-political landscape of governance along moral and ethical boundaries.
Governance, Finance and Strategic Risk Module aims
This module aims to:
Articulate key concepts associated with governance, economics, finance and strategic risk and the intersection of these components as part of operational and strategic performance within organisations.
Identify the various governance, economic, finance and risk tools and techniques to inform appropriate decision-making.
Understand the value of good governance, economics, finance and strategic risk practices and the ethical practices associated with managing organisations.
Identify governance, economics, finance and strategic risk related issues which impact strategic and operational performance within organisations, corporate social responsibility and ethical practices.
