Hardware and Software
Hardware refers to the physical components that make a computer. Software refers to the virtual programs that run on a computer to make it carry out tasks for people:
Operating System (OS): Usually Microsoft Windows, but you may also be familiar with macOS, iOS, Linux or Android, the operating system helps to run programs on the hardware. Without the OS, most hardware wouldn't be able to understand the instructions in programs.
Programs: Any of the programs you use to carry out tasks on a device, such Office programs, Games, exploring the Internet, and anything else. While a lot of software must be purchased, there are free programs you can acquire for certain things. You may also have a choice of programs as companies will offer competing products.
