Turn2Us is a benefits advice charity that provides an online benefit calculator for apprentices who are over 18 if you want to apply for means tested welfare/benefits, such as if you have childcare responsibilities or a disability.
Citizen's Advice provides a page explaining help available to people on low incomes, which may include apprentices who pay for their own living expenses.
If you have previously been in care and are aged under 25, you may be entitled to care leaver's bursary. You may be entitled to access a single payment of £1,000 when you have remained on the apprenticeship course for at least 60 days.
If you think you might be entitled to care leaver's bursary but you have not been made aware of it, please contact our student records team apprenticeshipssris@sheffcol.ac.uk
