Languages
Year 9
Year 9 Languages introduces learners to French, Spanish and Te Reo Māori, for a third of a year each. By the end of the year, learners will be able to understand and use familiar expressions and everyday vocabulary, interacting in a simple way in all three languages. Learners will also gain an insight into the cultural context of all three languages.
In Year 9 Te Reo, French and Spanish learners will learn lots of useful expressions that they would be able to use if they were going to travel to a French or Spanish speaking country or engage in conversation on a Marae.
There is the opportunity to extend their knowledge of both culture and language by working at their own pace on Languages Badges.
