Music
Year 10 - Semester Option
Year 10 Music builds on Year 9 Music and introduces learners to a broad range of musical skills and knowledge. A large focus is given early on to finding a main instrument (or voice) and developing skills on that instrument. Learners will be developing performance and music creation skills and techniques, with multiple opportunities to apply these throughout the year. Basic recording and music technology skills are taught and used for creating original music. Learners also study about music in different contexts, music literacy, and listening skills.

Year 10 Music is designed to provide learners with a broad range of foundational musical skills and knowledge which will prepare them for Year 11 Music and NCEA in future years.
This course is recommended background for Year 11 Music, though the only prerequisite is that you are, or are prepared to be, playing or learning an instrument and/or voice
