Integrated Studies

Year 9 Integrated Studies is a combination of both English and Social Studies. 

Course Focus 

• New Zealand identity - Māori history as a continuous history of Aotearoa New Zealand

• Migration  -  learning about colonisation and settlement have been central to Aotearoa New Zealand’s history

• Government systems

• Issues in sustainability

Within these contexts learners will learn the skills required to examine short texts, complete a novel study, write both creative and formal pieces and compile visual and oral presentations. There will be particular emphasis on developing Response to Literature essay writing.
