Science

Year 9 Science introduces students to a wide range of scientific concepts and skills that will help them to develop an understanding of the world, built on current scientific theories.

Course focus

• science laboratory skills, vocabulary, symbols and conventions
• patterns associated with physical phenomena such as forces and energy
• the structure of matter; elements, compounds, and mixtures at a particle level and atomic structure
• life processes in plants and animals
• the organisation of life at the cellular level
