Science

Year 7 Science introduces students to scientific concepts and skills that link to a range of familiar and unfamiliar situations in everyday life. The emphasis is on hands on activities and the use of digital technology to enhance understanding of scientific phenomena.

Course focus

• general laboratory skills
• from the garden to the kitchen; preserving, chromatography, pH
• ecology; habitats, adaptations to the environment
• interactive systems; weather, water and it's impact on the environment
• investigating sound
• precious plants; how plants are beneficial to humans and animals
• students choose an area of Science they wish to investigate and are able to earn Science badges
