Year 9 Mathematics introduces students to work on Level 5 of the National Curriculum. The course covers all five strands from the curriculum: Number, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement and Statistics
- we assess at the conclusion of each term, covering all topics taught in the previous weeks and challenging students to retain their understanding
- grades are reported based on the five strands of the curriculum
We cover the following topics for each of the strands:
- Number - integers, number properties, fractions, decimals and percentages
- Algebra - patterns, algebraic simplification, solving equations
- Geometry - angle properties of parallel lines and polygons, geometric reasoning
- Measurement - area and perimeter of standard shapes
- Statistics - data handling and univariate investigations
