The treble clef and notes on the treble clef
The bass clef and notes on the bass clef
Notes on a piano/keyboard
Playing with two hands on the piano/keyboard
Body percussion
Students are now currently applying their new found skills and working on performing Christmas songs on the keyboard.
YEAR 8:
Our year 8 students are busy at work investigating video game music and techniques used to create an effective piece of music for a video game.
Pupils have been reviewing some popular games pieces of music and how they are used in them and expanding their thinking by looking at video game music in a global context sense.
Pupils are in the process of creating their own piece of music for the popular video game 'Super Mario Bros'.
YEAR 9:
Our year 9 students are currently in the process of creating a short piece of music for a short scene from their chosen appropriate film. Pupils have been creating this and learning on a digital audio workstation called 'Logic pro X' which is a industry standard production software. Pupils are learning how to be able to manipulate sounds, change the envelope of sounds and even create their very own sounds on the software. At the end of the unit students will have the chance to premiere their scenes with their music to the class in a mini film premiere.
Choir
During the annual Christmas lunch, all students were treated to a musical performance by the school choir. Decked out in festive jumpers, diners were treated to a medley of Christmas songs which were enjoyed by all. It was a really lovely treat to end the module.
