Year 6 Open Evening
We had a very successfully open evening for Year 6, welcoming them to the department with the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Our GCSE and A Level students were at the evening to answer any questions prospective parents and students had, as well as demonstrating their work.
Students have also been experimenting with their ideas, under the same theme of Alice in Wonderland, ready for their mock examinations before the end of Module 2.
KS3
Year 7 have been learning mark making techniques and applying their knowledge to draw cups under the theme of Family.
Year 8 have been recalling skills learnt in Year 7 and have drawn shells at the start of their theme: Save Our Saves.
Year 9 have been creating work under their theme of Savage, influenced by the artist Annagret Soltau.
KS4
Both the Fine Art and Photography groups have made a fabulous start to their GCSE courses, learning fundamental skills to enable them to create a high standard of work throughout the year and into Year 11.
Post 16 Open Evening
A display of creative work from our existing Post 16 students was exhibited, to show how our new International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Visual Arts, running from September 2025, could be approached. Prospective students were excited by the idea of making an exhibition from work to display as part of their Diploma.
Post 16 have also been taking part in different workshops to gain new skills, Batik being one of them, with beautiful outcomes.
