Welcome
It has been a busy first two modules this year with plenty to celebrate in Curie. Both Mr Shepherd (Head of College) and Miss Morgan (Assistant Head of College) have been delighted with the efforts of Curie students since joining the college at the start of the academic year. Curie students have amassed a large number of reward points showing a good attitude to learning in lessons.
This module saw the departure of Miss Bjorkman as Student Support Officer for Curie but also the recent appointment of Mr Barrett. He has already shown himself to be an integral part of the team, along with Miss Read and Ms Senior.

On 11th November 2024, Curie students were joined on the plazas and in the Winter Garden by Mandela students, staff, visitors from Leigh Academy Dartford (formerly Dartford Primary Academy) and a representative from the Royal British Legion in a moving ceremony to commemorate those who have lost their lives in war. The service was impeccably observed and as always served as a moving tribute to those who gave their lives so that we might enjoy the freedom and opportunities we have today.
Students from Year 7 Curie as well as students in the top 15 in the League of Excellence in Year 8 and Year 9 had the opportunity to go to Dartford West Theatre to watch a pantomime. Sydnie Christmas (winner of Britain's Got Talent 2024) starred as Sleeping Beauty in this year's performance. It was a festive day all round with Christmas jumpers worn for our traditional Christmas lunch at school too. Students had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Curie students were challenged to a photo competition this module and the joint winners submitted the photos below. Connor took his photo when he was on holiday in Mexico. Joel submitted this photo along with a number of other shots from a recent trip to London. Congratulation to all students who took part.
Connor (Year 8)
Joel (Year 11)
Thank you to all parents for their support over the last two modules. We wish you and your families a peaceful break and a happy and safe new year.
