The first year 6 open evening as the new Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy was a resounding success, with parents and students alike impressed by the school's welcoming atmosphere and commitment to academic excellence.
The event began with a warm welcome from the Principal, Mrs Collins who outlined the school's vision and values and explained the exciting journey that students at Sir Geoffrey Leigh embark on when they arrive in year 7. As a school, we were able to showcase the outstanding achievements made by our outgoing cohorts and highlight the numerous extra curricular opportunities available to all of our students.
Parents were then invited to tour the school, expertly toured by our student ambassadors of all ages - visiting classrooms and meeting teachers and getting involved with exciting activities in each subject. The classrooms were buzzing with activity, with students and visitors alike engaged in a variety of learning experiences. Our expert teachers were on hand to answer questions and discuss their teaching methods and explain what learning looks like at our school.
The evening concluded with refreshments, providing an opportunity to showcase the fabulous catering available to students via Cucina. Parents frequently stayed to chat with each other and share their impressions of the school.
Our open evening was a great success, leaving parents with a positive impression of the school and eager to enrol their children for the following academic year. We look forward to seeing all our new students in September 2025!
