In this project we will be using a coding platform called Scratch to create a world of our own. When creating a world, we need to consider the following things.
Consider what Torah tells us about how are world was created. All the things creatures need to survive - light/dark, sky, land, water, air, plants, trees, sun, moon, and stars - all needed to be created before animals and humans could inhabit the world.
When you go to design your world, think about all these aspects. What elements does your world need to have for the inhabitants you will create to survive? What will all this look like, sound like, and feel like?
Animals, ogres, aliens, robots, fairies, and people - all these beings need things to keep going, living, and thriving. Who are your inhabitants? What needs do they have - food, shelter, love, etc. What do they need to do to get what they need? What do the inhabitants value? What rituals and celebrations do they observe?
Rules are a part of any society. In Judaism we have many rules - from the 10 commandments to rules of religious practice. Rules, at their best, are designed to protect those in the society and help them to thrive. Think about 3 essential rules that can govern the world you are creating.
