In this elective we will be expanding on the skills acquired in our 5th/6th Creative Coding Elective and digging in deeper to develop a dynamic personal project powered by a Micro:Bit.
To get started we have a series of challenges to complete to review how a Micro:Bit works. Remember, to code the Micro:Bit we go to MakeCode. Be sure to make an account using your school email address. If you do not have an account and/or are not logged-in your work will not be saved.
In this class we will use the V2 Micro:Bit. The diagram below shows the features of this microprocessor.

Before we design our own Micro:Bit projects we need to review some of what a Micro:Bit can do. Here are the challenges you need to complete.
Code a servo motor to run on your Micro:Bit. Use at least 2 different inputs and have the servo perform at least 2 different tasks. Wire and test your servo/Micro:Bit configuration.
Code your Micro:Bit to turn an external light on when it gets dark and off when it is light. Wire and test.
Work with a partner to send messages from one Micro:Bit to another.
Your Micro:Bit project is your chance to really dig in and spend time creating something you can really be proud of. The project should be of personal interest and complex enough to keep you working and iterating the entire semester.
I am sending you a Slides deck to fill out. You will need to consider the following items:
Purpose: What do you hope to make and why do you hope to make it? What is it adding to the world?
Process: How will you go about making this? What will you need to do first, second, and twenty-third? Share an outline for how you will approach this work.
Picture of Success: How will you know if you are successful? What will will a successfull project do, look like, feel like, and sound like?
Stretch!: If you finish early, how could you take this project to a new level or in a new direction?
