Concept and Design Strategies:
Cancha in Veracruz, 2015 designed by Rozana Montiel
Design process and iteration:
The main element which is the wall acts as a skin by wraping around all the programs.
The main element is the wall which has affordances such as seating, extensions serving the purpose of a stage.
Spatial Intent:
One main wall which acts is the skin of the program wraps commonly around all the programs which has niches and punctures in them which increases the transitional capacity of the wall by creating spaces for seating and having having furnitures embedded in the wall itself. The varying heights of the wall also defines the openess or intimacy of the space. Balconies jutting out from the main wall act acts as a space for interaction. These balconies also acts as a pathway from the programs on the first floor. The low height of this gathering spaces affords habitable spaces beneath them. The user on entering the space gets an experience of entering from a narrower space into a more open space. The jaali wall helps provide a visual connect between the inside and outside and also merges with the surroundings.

DESIGN ELEVATIONS:
The elevations show the stepped nursery leading to the terrace of the shops which is made an accessible area . The structure is a load bearing structure made of exposed bricks. The varying heights of the parapet walls provides a sense of boundary and safety and at some places the height of the parapet wall is increased at a higher height and has punctures for viewing purposes and niches which can be made accessible by the visitors.
DESIGN SECTIONS:
The sections show the balconies formed which serves to be the projections from the main wall i.e. the skin. This balcony serves to be a gathering space or a space of interaction. The balconies are constructed at a lower level and the space formed below the balcony happens to be a tunnel like space which can be inhabited by kids and animals.
