Rhythm of  Fragments

Observation Drawing

People have found creative ways to use the space under trees without harming them. The different activities happening under various trees across the site make it feel FRAGMENTED, especially since there are trees spread out all over. Thick-barked trees are mainly used for different purposes: those on the ground are used for sitting, playing, and shading; ones along paths and boundaries serve as gathering spots and places for leisure activities; while those by roadsides are often used for selling goods and displaying ads. These patterns reflect the daily life of the people nearby and helped me understand how to design the project.

Different activities under and around the tree scattered on the site.

DESIGN PROCESS

ZONING : stage 1

Initially integrating different activities with their appropriate atmospheres to create a smooth flow.

For instance, placing a calm library next to an outdoor nursery since libraries need quiet, and the nursery complements that experience. The clinic will be nearby.

The balwadi space will serve as both a childcare center and a stage for events. When there's a function, the kids' play area transforms into a stage, and the childcare rooms become a green room.

merging a community gathering spot, similar to old times near temples. So, combining a temple with a community hall, providing space for older folks and important meetings under shaded trees by the temple this also serves as shakha space.

Shops will be along the street for easy access and a fluid interaction with street and the transit camp neighbourhood ,

while the first floor will host a vyamshala ,a reading space, and a viewing deck with seating for a complete view of the design.

STAGE 2: Identifying green spaces that form around the building and site external forces that acts on the four sides of the structure.

STAGE :3 Due to very less open space for various activities to perform by people from neighbourhood in above design process, stacking some programes on 1st floor and keeping one side vacant with a larger open space so that people can easily use it as their comfort, and designing the structure accordingly.
