Dear God,
We give thanks to you for making us all different and unique in our own ways. We are all different and you have given us all different talents, skills and things that we can practice more on.
We all have different talents and skills thanks to you have given us that makes us all unique. Together we all are stronger with each other’s company, as a team we are stronger. We are all your children, and we all follow in your footsteps.
We are all one community as your children, we are all one and work together to make the world a better place for us and your creations. Jesus’ disciples were formed as one community to follow and love as you and Jesus have.
We keep each other close as you have made an eternal place in our hearts.
Amen

We hope that you enjoy a lovely half term next week - in addition to your extra day tomorrow! Teachers will be working on the end-of-year school reports which will be among the many 'events' of next half term.
With hopes for pleasant weather in June and July - without being too hot - we have our Summer Fayre (6th July), sports days and Leavers' Performances to look forward to, along with much more! We will be welcoming our new children and families to Reception during the term, whilst our Year 6 pupils take their first steps towards secondary schools. At the end of June, we will be celebrating our annual Feast Day.
For all of our pupils, in early July there will be an introduction to their mix of classes for September, as well as meeting their new teachers. Along with the new class compositions, Mrs Crabb has been working on class names which will stay with the year group rather than moving with the children.
We are expecting most or all of our teachers to still be with us in September although, today, we send Mrs May off on her maternity leave with the very best wishes for a safe, happy and healthy birth. We look forward to seeing her back next year and, for next half term, welcome Miss Butcher to St Bernadette's class.
Well done to our selection of rapid Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils for their participation in the Assisi Trust's Pentecost Dash this morning. We clearly have some budding athletes and I would encourage you all to keep healthy this holiday, maybe by trying out your local parkrun. Why not register and run for free on a Saturday morning!
God bless you and your week of rest from the school run.

In line with other schools we will be introducing a new policy where by any children not collected from school by 3.30pm will be placed in our after school tea club and a £6 fee will be applied to your School Money account.
We have seen an increase in the number of children not collected on time and we hope the new charges will ensure children are collected promptly.
Our Amazon Wishlist is live!! The idea is that friends and family of the school can donate directly to the school library. We’ll still accept preloved copies from home that you may also wish to donate. The selection of books are chosen by the staff as texts that may benefit the pupil's reading comprehension, engagement with the curriculum and foster an interest in reading. The current list is reflective of this and will update as and when donations come through. The link to our Wishlist is here.
A big thank you to those that have bought books for the school, we truly appreciate it.
In Year 1, they have been thinking about the special people in their lives such as parents, our parish priest, carers and friends and what makes them special. In maths, they have been looking at doubling, grouping and sharing.
Year 6 spent the morning at the park playing a variety of sports and enjoying the outdoor space.
A Pilgrimage of Hope in the Jubilee Year
Members of our school community joined with the other schools from across the Assisi Trust to participate in our own Pilgrimage of Hope along the seafront.
Crowning of Mary
Let us pray. O God, since you have given us Mary, the Mother of your Son, to be our mother and our queen, grant that we, who have come here to crown her image, may attain the glory of your children in the kingdom of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
PUPIL ABSENCE
When a child is off sick, a phone call must be made daily to record their absence. For sickness and diarrhea, the school has a 48 hours policy from the last episode before a child can return to school.
Any medical appointments need proof of the appointment for our records.
For any other absences a leave of absence form must be completed which can be obtained from the office.
SPARE SWIMMING KITS
We urgently need spare boys swimming trunks aged 10 and above for swimming lessons plus spare towels. If anyone has anything they could donate to the school we would be most grateful.
We are also short on spare underwear for older children. Any donations can be brought to the office. Thank you for your support
COAT REMINDER – Please remember as the weather is changing to make sure your child has a coat with them and that it is clearly labelled. It is much colder today and some children came in without coats on, and were complaining they were cold in the playground.
LOST PROPERTY
Please can all parents check their child’s clothes - All items should be clearly labelled and your child needs to ensure they can identify their own property. Staff are wasting too much time searching for children’s clothing and dealing with frustrated parents.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Dear Parents/Carers
Please ensure your child is bringing in a healthy snack each day. They should NOT have chocolate, cakes or crisps, although baked savoury snacks are acceptable.
We are a Healthy School and must ensure all children are following the guidelines. Snacks must also NOT contain nuts or any type of nutty spread like Nutella or praline etc. as we are a nut free school.
Thank you for your continued support with this matter.
We would like to remind all our families using breakfast club of the importance of booking in advance. We have noticed an increase of children not booking in advance and this effects our staffing ratio.
Breakfast club (£3 per session) runs from 7:30 until the start of school and includes a light breakfast and childcare.
We also run a tea club (£6 per session) from 3:15-5:30pm which includes a light tea and childcare - again all bookings must be booked and paid for in advance. Failure to pay will result in the child not being able to attend future sessions.
All bookings must be made at the beginning of each week so we can ensure we have enough staff available. Priority will be given to children who have booked in advance and those who have not booked may not be able to stay.
If you need assistance making a booking please email annemariedriscoll@sacredheart.southend.sch.uk
We would like to remind all our families that we are a nut free school to protect some of our pupils/staff and therefore request that no items of food containing nuts are brought in. We have noticed an increasing number of children bringing in snacks and spreads containing nuts ie cereal bars, chocolate spread etc. We hope you all understand the importance that some of our community have epi pens for their allergies and we need to ensure their safety at all times. Thank you for your co-operation.

Dear Parents/carers,
Thank you so much for attending the Spring ISP meetings with your child's class teachers. Your involvement and partnership in your child's education is deeply appreciated. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to book a meeting, it's not too late! We encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher to discuss the targets they will be working on next term. This is a wonderful way to support your child's learning and progress.
As a polite reminder, we have created a Learning Plan tailored to your child's needs and would greatly value your input. You can view and comment on the plan by visiting the following link: https://edukeyapp.com/parent/login. To access the plan, please use the code provided by your class teacher or contact our school SENCO, Mrs. White, for assistance in accessing it online.
Your feedback is important to us, and we look forward to your contributions, as we continue to work together to support your child's development.
Warm regards, Mrs White (SENCO)
