I’m calling this project, Mango Tango because that's the flavor of the Odwalla juice. The subject is an empty Odwalla bottle based off an empty Odwalla bottle. I chose to create this specific work because I love this juice. For materials, I used wire and thin wire. I used a variety of techniques and methods including wrapping the wire around the bottle to get the shape and using support wires on the sides of the spiral to make it stand straight up. While creating this work, I paid close attention to making a cylinder shape by keeping the spiral shape and making it stand up. I wanted my artwork to look filled in because I didn't want it to be just the outline of the bottle but an actual bottle. and I did that by creating a tight spiral. To add interest to my composition, I used the thin wire to write the word Odwalla across the front of it. I like the way it looks like an actual bottle and I am proud of how it stand up by itself. However, I struggled with making the connections tight enough. If I created another work like this I may create a coffee mug to go with it. My work shows that I learned how to create a sculpture out of wire that is close to the shape it's suppose to be.
