Duck

The subject of my creation is a duck and a baby duck sitting in a pong. The setting is a pond with reaves. To make this project I used an H pencil to sketch the ducks and background, then started to use oil pastels to color in the picture . I had to layer and mix different oil pastels and blend them with my finger to get the right colors. It took lots of layers. I used my personal set of oil pastels with 36 different shades. The principles of design I used in this project was contrast with the different colors such as yellow and blue, movement with the waves in the water, and pattern of the feathers of the ducks. My project evolved from being flat, plain colors to having different depths and shades of color. The meaning behind my artwork is a mother and a baby and it relates to my life because I like baby animals.
