Beaver Gear and Business Skills: New School Store Launches in Commons

A new hub for school spirit and student enterprise has officially opened its doors at Reedsburg Area High School. Located in the commons, the new school store offers a convenient spot for students to purchase Beaver apparel while also serving as a hands-on business lab for students.
The store is run by students and advised by business teacher Mr. Palmer Schroeder. The idea, he explained, has been in development for years and was inspired by similar successful projects at other schools.
“The school store has been in the referendum for years,” Schroeder said. “Touring other schools, such as Baraboo, I saw how a store brought students together and provided real-world opportunities for leadership, budgeting, and marketing.”
The new addition is already generating a positive response from students.
“I think it is an interesting addition and a helpful tool for students who want school apparel but don’t have another spot to get it from,” said Ava Van Coulter '26.
Currently, the store stocks a variety of school-branded merchandise, including hoodies, T-shirts, and joggers, with all designs created by students in the marketing class. Schroeder hopes to expand the product line by collaborating with other departments in the school’s new innovation center.
“I hope to work with students in different design fields, such as students in shop class, and have wood-burned ornaments during Christmas time, for example,” Schroeder said.
For those looking to check it out, the school store is open during all lunch periods, after school, and during home games.
