Homecoming: Day of the Dance Do’s and Dont’s
By, Anna Hirschinger
With Homecoming approaching, RAHS students are busy preparing for the perfect evening. Whether you go out for dinner, dine in or just meet up for pictures, there are plenty of options for a great time leading up to the dance.
Anna’s Top 5 Spots for Dinner
Instead of doing the ‘default’ try something new! Here are my top 5 places to eat before homecoming this year.
For those looking to start off with a bang, and who don’t mind spending some extra cash, one of the nicest places you can eat is at the Del Bar in Wisconsin dells. The Dell Bar offers many deluxe food options but the price does align with that.
If you are looking for something more local but still high quality, I definitely recommend heading over to the Reedsburg Country Club. Great patio seating is available if the weather is right but the dining room is spacious as well.
Another great local option with a casual but classy vibe is Cancun Bay in Reedsburg. They recently moved and their new, more spacious location will definitely be the perfect spot for your group to eat at.
Looking for something cheaper but still amazing? Simply heading to Culvers for some good eats at a reasonable price is always a great option.
If going out is not your thing, just get your friends together and prepare dinner at someone's home. This adds a cozy vibe and you don't have to deal with others.
Take it from a senior, no matter where you go, have a plan. If you are going to a sit down restaurant be sure to make a reservation. Call and let them know how many people you have and what time you plan on eating on Saturday, October 11.
Top 5 Spots for Photos
Webb Park is a classic option and this is not to knock it, but many seniors have said to avoid this spot for your homecoming photos. It can be crowded and overused. This is not to dismiss Webb Park, but if you want, here are some other options to try another area to get the perfect shot.
If you want a classy outdoor vibe without driving far then check out Reedsburg Country Club. They have amazing views and scenic backdrops.
Another option is City Park in Reedsburg. It’s a strong option for those who might be turned off by the busy vibes of Webb Park. It includes lots of pretty trees with changing leaves.
Another beautiful golf course option but with a little bit of a hike is Trappers Turn. Though it's in the Dells it's 100% worth it. They have stunning florals and greenery.
If golf courses aren't your vibe, you can check out the Dells river walk. Multiple seniors said this was one of their favorite spots. It overlooks the water and is so beautiful.
If you’re looking for something a little different and funky check out The Grateful Shed. They have a cool staircase full of license plates that will look great on your feed.
No matter where you decide to take pictures just remember to wear your best smile. “Its not about where you go for homecoming, it's about who you go with,” said Bella Peterson ‘26
