The Reedsburg Area High School Equestrian Team has qualified for the state competition after a dominant performance at their regional meet on October 11th and 12th. The team is now preparing to compete at State on October 24th–26th at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
The team, which includes both middle and high school riders, is coached by Ms. Kerri Schiller, Ms. Mary Osgood, and Ms. Mackenzie Kaney.
The team members are:
High School: Bella Osgood ('26), Zaylie Osgood ('26), and Gwen Krolikowski ('28).
Middle School: Zoey Tobey ('28), Tenley Schultz ('28), Lana Osgood ('30), Maddison Griep ('30), and Savanna Kaney ('31).
Team Manager: Jo Lyn Elder ('29).
The team’s exceptional effort earned them the title of Grand Champion for District 3, Division B at the district show, which secured their spot at State.
"This achievement was truly a team effort," said Coach Schiller.
The girls have been working relentlessly to accomplish this goal. According to senior Zaylie Osgood, the team is more than just a group of riders; they have developed a tight bond that makes them feel like a family.
"The most exciting part of going to State is that we just get to experience that as a group and that we have made it this far," said Osgood.
Coach Schiller notes that the team’s success comes from their willingness to adapt. “Our team's strength comes from our competitors’ willingness to step out of their comfort zones,” Schiller says. “Many have taken on classes they do not typically ride in, allowing us to be strong across all areas of the competition.”
As they head to State, the team hopes to represent Reedsburg not only through their performance but also through their showmanship qualities, continuously supporting each other through every obstacle.
