The Reedsburg Choraliers will debut their 2026 show this Saturday, Jan. 10, during a high-level competition at Holmen High School. The Choraliers will face top talent from around the state, including groups from Holmen, Chippewa Falls, DeForest, Sauk Prairie, and more.
Preparation for the season began over the summer with a rigorous vocal and dance training camp. The group has continued their dedicated work over the last six weeks to prepare for the competition season, which ramps up this weekend.
“I’m very confident in our group,” said singer/dancer Brianna Ehlers ’27. “We all have positive attitudes and positive energy, and I believe that’s going to push us through to the finals.”
The Choraliers organization consists of three distinct groups working in harmony to create the show: the singer/dancers at center stage, the band providing the music, and the crew keeping the production organized and running smoothly. Each group is vital to the show choir's success.
Mrs. Kristen Sporakowski, director of the Reedsburg Choraliers, is excited for the group to demonstrate their talent and bring their hard work to the stage.
“My goal this weekend is for our team to perform our show to the very best of our abilities and to have a fabulous time doing it,” said Sporakowski. “There is nothing like the first competition. I am so excited!”
Ehlers noted that because many members are freshmen or new to show choir, the experienced upperclassmen have stepped into leadership roles.
“It is a whole new level of leadership for us this year,” said Ehlers. “It’s amazing to see how much you grow when you are an older member of the group. I am super excited to see [the new members] be so excited about something they’ve never experienced before.”
Singer/dancer Teresa Olivares ’27 shared a few insights into the show, the theme of which remains under wraps until this weekend.
“I can’t wait for the feeling of the lights being on and the energy that radiates from the audience to us on stage,” said Olivares.
Predicting a great performance this Saturday and in the weeks to come, Olivares hinted at the show's character.
“The energy overall in the show is great,” said Olivares. “It is fun, dramatic, and a little sassy.”
