A new hub of creativity is buzzing through the halls of RAHS. The source of that energy is the new Innovation Center, a dynamic space that is quickly becoming a student favorite.
We spoke with paraprofessional, Ms. Lindsay Schultz to learn more about its mission. "It is a space that bridges library media with tech media," Schultz said, noting that the center's identity is still taking shape as it combines "resources from the past, present, and future."
For students, this means the Innovation Center is a versatile place to create, study, and collaborate. It offers quiet workspaces for individuals, areas for group projects, and new technology designed to help students think outside the box. Teachers are also taking advantage of the new environment, bringing classes up to "change the vibe" of their daily lessons, said Schultz.
One of the most noticeable updates is how the books are being organized. To help students find what they're looking for more easily, Schultz is arranging the collection by genre. This has made the most popular sections—like romance, fantasy, and mystery—more accessible than ever.
While you're at school today, pick up a book from the Innovation Center. Schultz suggests The Girl I Was by Jeniva Rose. It is about Rose building a time travel machine and traveling back to her college days at UW-Oshkosh.
