St. Peter’s Lutheran School will host its annual Spaghetti Supper on Friday, Oct. 24, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the school, 346 N. Locust St.
Both dine-in and carry-out options are available. The event will accept cash or checks only.
Proceeds from this year's supper will fund new radios for faculty and staff as part of a new school safety plan. “This year, the spaghetti dinner funds are going to raise money for new radios for our faculty and staff,” said Theresa Braun, event coordinator and a teacher at St. Peter’s.
The all-you-can-eat menu includes spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, coleslaw, breadsticks, and an assortment of desserts donated by St. Peter’s families.
Event planners include Braun, Krista Gunther, and Cindy Nellesson, along with other staff and school board members. Planning for the event typically begins in early August.
“I enjoy the fellowship with so many different people in the community,” said Sharon Craker, an 8th-grade teacher at St. Peter’s.
Community member Liz Cuff plans to attend to support the school her grandchildren attend. “Food, gift baskets for sale, fellowship, and dessert!” Cuff said. “I can see a difference it makes academically and spiritually. And I get to see my daughter, her husband, and grandchildren, and eat with them.”
“Last year was our first time attending the spaghetti supper, I happened to see a Facebook post about it that week," said community member Liz Sprecher. "It was delicious and so well done overall! I taught Becca in Sunday School and wanted to show support for her and her school’s fundraiser. I'm also a teacher myself, and know how important fundraisers are for our schools. I can't wait for this year.”
