Travel the World Program

Travel the World: Cultures and Cuisines is an ongoing series of workshops planned, designed and led by members of the Westwood High School IB Program and held at local elementary schools to teach students about the geography and different cultures of each continent. Each enrichment workshop is led by a subject-matter expert from one country of the continent who gives an overview of the continent before deep diving on their country and presenting in-depth information about that country such as the geography, culture, traditions, and landmarks of that country. Students also get the opportunity to cook or bake a food from that country with the presenter. So far, Australia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Germany, India, and Mexico workshops have been taught by Westwood students and a UT professor to the elemenrary school students.
