Navigate to 10. Maintenance in the side menu.
Open the 10.4 Fixed Asset Setup folder.
Select 10.4.1 Asset Type.
Click the New Record button (pencil icon) in the top toolbar.
In the Asset Type Info section, enter the following:
Code: A unique identifier for the category (e.g., "BLD" for Building).
Asset Type: The full name of the asset category.
Asset Account: Select the corresponding General Ledger account for the asset.
Accumulated Depreciation Account: Link the GL account that will track the total depreciation over time.
Depreciation Expense Accounts (Production/Admin): Select the expense accounts and assign a percentage (%) split for each.
Depreciable: Tick this checkbox if the assets in this category lose value over time.
If the Depreciable box is checked, you must fill out the Depreciation Details on the right:
Depreciation Method: Select your preferred calculation method (e.g., "Straight Line").
Averaging Method: Select how the system handles partial months (e.g., "Full Month").
Useful Life: Define the standard lifespan for this category in Years and Months (e.g., 120 Months).
Active: Ensure this box is checked so the Asset Type appears during asset registration.
Review the entries to ensure the GL accounts and percentages are correct.
Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Use Add New to create another type
