National Tourism Week Webinar

National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) is an annual event in the United States celebrated during the month of May. NTTW provides an opportunity to recognize the substantial financial and social contributions of the travel and tourism sector, which generates billions of dollars in revenue, supports millions of careers, and fosters cultural exchange and understanding. It also serves as a reminder of the significance of travel and tourism to local communities and economies throughout the United States. Purdue University Global hospitality and event course leads Mimi Gough and Julie Dort are holding the third annual 1-hour virtual event to highlight the hospitality concentrations as well as career opportunities.

The field of hospitality and event management is growing and evolving and is expected to recover and thrive post-pandemic. To prepare students for emerging trends in the hospitality and event industry, the School of Business has blended the concentrations Hospitality Management and Meeting and Event Planning to now offer Hospitality and Event Management. The new concentrations emphasize new technologies, service learning, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and diversity in the workplace.
