Loving Our Enemy
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"
Matthew 5:44
Last year (2025), I created what I call The Hummingbird Prayer to help me forgive my enemies.
And to heal my heart.
I took the Hawaiian prayer, called The Ho'oponopono Prayer, and combined it with Matthew 5:44 to create The Hummingbird Prayer.
“I apologize for my offense. Forgive me. I forgive you everything.
I thank you. I love you. I bless you. I release you.
Father, forgive us both. Amen.”
I repeat it until I FEEL it in my heart and am able to think of that person with only love, rather than anything negative.
As for my “offense” - if you are curious - it may be simply holding onto anger, hurt, bitterness, or unforgiveness.
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."
Matthew 5:44
One who has a heart after God's own heart, is one who does the will of Our Heavenly Father
Including hard things - like forgiving, loving, and blessing our enemies.
""And when he had removed him,
he raised up unto them David to be their king;
to whom also he gave their testimony,
and said, I have found David the son of Jesse,
a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will."
Acts 13:22

Think about what moved you in this section. Or perhaps something you learned. What are some practical things you can ask Our Heavenly Father for in your prayers to Him?
Possible things to pray for (in case you need ideas!).
- Ask Our Heavenly Father to teach you how to love all of His children and to have a heart after His, like David.
- Forgiveness and love for your enemies [Click here for The "Hummingbird" prayer]
Note of caution: don’t pray for these opportunities all at once. Going slow is recommended, especially if you are healing from a hurt. In this case, ask Our Heavenly Father to take it slow with the opportunities, so you can ramp up to the one he created you to be, in such a time as this.
