Resist the Enemy
“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7
How do I Resist the Enemy?
Staying out of spirtual debt
Take your own thoughts captive
Flee from temptation
Avoid sin
Close doors to the enemy
Don't Speak Word Curses
Break Ungodly Soul Ties
Get Delivered (don't be offended, because there is a REALLY high likelihood that you need deliverance if you have never been delivered.)
What is the enemy's goal?
To disconnect us from God. Detached. Separated. Why? Because the enemy is jealous.
Recognize the enemy and fight him with God’s power and with Scriptural truth. When we are separated from God- we are in sin. When we are in sin, we are separated from God.
What is the Opposite of “Separate”? subservient, compliant, deferential, submissive, obedient, devoted, faithful, loyal, Abide. Connect. Renew. Restore.
To get right with God, we must abide in Him, and He is us.
Abide: to Submit , remain (living with). to defer, to persevere with, to wait upon, to rest in
A great example is my dog, Tinkerbell. She stays at my feet, and rests, waiting upon me to direct her where we will go next. She trusts me to care for her every need. She has a child-like faith in me, in that she doesn’t worry about where her next meal will come from, or where she will sleep as she knows I will always be there to feed her with whatever I have,
“Transform” means metamorphosis—like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Renewing your mind is how Christ’s new life takes shape in you.
“Renew” means to return to your original position after a break. When you said “yes” to Jesus, you were born again—restored to your true identity in Him: new, right, whole, and holy.
Anything contrary to who Jesus is, such as fear, anxiety, is a separation from God.
To renew your mind from feeling fear, declare out loud: “I have not been given a spirit of fear, but I have power, love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7.
To renew your mind when confronted with anxiety, declare out loud: “
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.”
Philippians 4:6

If you feel guilty or ashamed of your actions or feelings or behavior you can read the section on what to do if you feel ashamed: “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” Psalm 86:5.
Metamorphosis takes time—a caterpillar doesn’t become a butterfly overnight. Rewiring your mind from old patterns is a daily practice. Speaking truth renews your brain, but it’s a process. So give yourself plenty of grace along the way.
The enemy will remind you of your past and condemn you. remind the enemy of your future in Christ. My mental monologue generally contains too much self-focused and self-defeating babble.
This chapter dives into the many ways we have been given, by God, to resist the enemy, that is, anything that separates us from God.
Feeling offended? That is a CALL TO LOVE. People who are hurt, hurt others. Love them instead. Renew your mind from offense: be quick to forgive the one who offended, and be quick to repent for feeling offended in the first place.
Well, then. What should I think about instead? Good question.
“Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Think and Speak Positively. Yourself & others. Speak of positive things
